Running long in ABQ
I met up with the Albuquerque Road Runners club on Saturday morning. I woke up at 5am to eat my banana and 1 packet of oatmeal. I wanted to make sure it went through my system. I had a good run.
date: 11.25.2006, Saturday
time: 7:30am, started running around 7:45am
weather conditions: needed gloves initially, but got really warm after 1 lap
clothing: long leggings, too warm
shoes: New Balance 1010
route:Albuquerque Academy
distance: ~10miles
time:2 hrs
pace:?
meal night before: chinese chow fun homemade, fish, fruit?
It got really warm, but I had a good run. I took 1 Gu after 2 laps. It's about 3.2 miles each lap. I liked to have done 4 laps, but needed to get back home for our day trip to Santa Fe. I got use to the elevation. I wasn't panting like I was on Turkey Trek race day. I felt really good. Maybe tomorrow morning I'll notice the difference when I run.
The runners from Albuquerque Road Runners were super-friendly. I ended up running by myself mostly, which I didn't mind since I do the run/walk method. There were a lot of runners out there and it's out an open, highly visible place. The next time I go to Albuquerque, I'll try that again.
